Despite being a quiet type, performance is somehow in my nature. Below is a selection of the things I do…

Local theatre

Up until a couple of years ago I was a member of an amateur dramatics group, and played roles as varied as Elvira in Blithe Spirit, Geraldine in What the Butler Saw and a range of roles (including a sniffly schoolgirl and the kooky French mistress) in Daisy Pulls It Off.

I now keep my acting muscles exercised in plays by local playwrights. I’m currently preparing for the part of a hippie ‘space cadet’ in Regret by Aaron Neal: a play about lost love, broken dreams and (it’s suggested) domestic violence. We’re hoping to put this on in community venues as part of the Night Out scheme in Wales: more details will follow when dates are set.

I’m also playing a range of roles in Hannay Stands Fast! by David Edgar (no, not that one), an adaptation of John Buchan’s Mr Standfast, for the Llangollen Twenty Club. This production runs from 2–4 November 2017.

Murder Mysteries

I’ve taken part in regular Murder Mystery events at my local library over the last couple of years – and yes, sometimes I’ve been the one ‘whodunnit’!

These evenings are great fun and are always sold out well in advance. I’m not sure who enjoys them more: the audience or the cast…

Spoken word

I occasionally perform my work, whether at local open mic nights or on our Calon Talks Books radio show. Check out the links below to view or listen to some of these performances…

I love to speak and act, and always get great feedback about my performances. If you would like me to speak or perform for an event you are running, please get in touch.
